Welcome to the 17th Annual A Taste of Fall with FACETS that supports our mission to open doors for people in need. We welcome your support and attendance at this year’s fundraising event themed Carnival of Cultures as we celebrate the diverse cultural representation of our program participants.
This year’s event will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at the Stay C. Sherwood Community Center located at 3740 Old Lee Hwy, Fairfax, VA 22030. The evening begins at 7:00 pm and will conclude at 9:30 pm. This fun-filled event will help us to continue our mission of ending the cycle of homelessness and poverty within Fairfax County.
Guests will surely be in for a treat, with samples of delicious food and drinks from local restaurants, wineries and, breweries as well as our Fall inspired Signature Drink. Put your dancing shoes for the live musical entertainment from Kate and Logan. Additionally, prepare to play fun carnival games with the chance to win prizes and much more.
In our community, 1,059 people are literally homeless. While this number is significant, it marks a 42% decrease in individuals experiencing homelessness since 2008. This percentage demonstrates the success of the strategies implemented over the past 8 years. It is because of our caring community we have come so far in the fight to end homelessness in Fairfax County—but we still have more work to do. At FACETS, we are growing our programs to strengthen the support we provide to our neighbors in need. With your help, we can continue to provide long-term solutions and life-saving services to our community.
