Inspired by Brenda 

Tragedy touched the FACETS family last November with the passing of Brenda Dushko, our beloved Senior Director of Development. Brenda was charismatic, generous and deeply committed to serving our most vulnerable neighbors.  Everyone who knew her loved her, and feels her loss. She will be deeply missed by her FACETS family, but her impact will be felt forever.

To honor Brenda’s life, an anonymous donor has provided a $25,000 matching grant as a legacy to her selfless dedication to advancing the FACETS mission of opening doors for children, families and individuals suffering the effects of homelessness, poverty and hunger in Fairfax County. 

In keeping with her generous heart, in addition to supporting FACETS’ emergency and transitional services, the funds raised in Brenda’s memory will transform lives by helping the students and families we serve overcome financial barriers to education opportunities and bring them closer to attaining academic success and long-term stability.  All donations pledged to or received in Brenda’s memory will be matched 100% up to $25,000.
